Telegram is not only convenient for communication but also for business. Companies create bots that help automate customer service by answering frequently asked questions and providing product information. Additionally, through Telegram’s API, the messenger can be integrated with other systems, such as CRM, simplifying customer interaction management. The open-source nature of the application also plays a significant role; for instance, the InviteMember platform based on Telegram has been used by thousands of companies and entrepreneurs worldwide to generate revenue or expand their reach using the mobile platform.
Beyond the standard messaging functions, Telegram offers a whole arsenal of tools that can enhance business efficiency. IT-World asked members of the IT-Dialogue community how they use Telegram for business.
Ivan Kozlov, IT Director: “From my experience, we try to use specialized corporate messengers because they can be controlled. We sometimes use Telegram in projects for communication with external suppliers and contractors.”
The file-sharing feature allows for easy transfer of large files, including images, videos, and documents. There are also tools for planning and task tracking, making Telegram an excellent project management tool. Numerous solutions allow for the integration of Telegram into websites by installing simple plugins in just a few clicks. For example, an online support chat widget can add a Telegram profile or channel to a company’s website, with a welcome message inviting visitors to contact you or join your channel.
Alexey Shibanov, IT Director: “We’ve been using Telegram for a long time, and lately, our appetite has grown, so we’re using it more and almost everywhere. It’s a cheap alternative to mobile apps or website modifications. Most often, Telegram serves as a front for our 1C system—all management reports, document approvals, etc. We also use support channels for customers and employees, and automated workstations for sales agents. We create many bots, even temporary ones; for example, we recently launched a two-week sale—created a bot in three hours, sold the product, and forgot about it.”
Today, Telegram has spread worldwide, with large user bases in Europe, Asia, South America, and, recently, North America. Its global reach has helped it become a major player in the messaging app industry. Looking ahead, Telegram’s trajectory as a leading communication platform appears very promising.
Sergey Loktionov, IT Director: “Telegram is an integral part of reality, so we use it for analytics, planning, and managing our development team. We currently have over 70 developers working on platforms like Oracle, Progress, and MSSQL. We develop everything ourselves—from applications to the backend. We connect any sources and create target bots for our needs.”
Andrey Rykov, Deputy General Manager for IT: “At OBIT, we use Telegram as an interface for interacting with systems and customers, creating intelligent assistant bots for internal and external requests. We also use the platform’s familiar functionality for internal corporate communications on various aspects of the company’s activities. To improve customer service, we design AI interfaces in an omnichannel model, including using Telegram’s technology stack.”
